McGuire Farm & Excavating officially broke ground this morning at the future site of Indian Lake's new Cobblestone Hotel. After more than a year in the planning stages, the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce announced in May that a new 54-room Cobblestone Hotel is coming to Indian Lake. Currently there are no hotels within 9 miles of the lake.
A group of 17 investors, most with ties to Indian Lake, have committed to the eight million dollar project. The site is located on the southeast corner at the intersection of Route 33 and Lincoln Blvd. in Russells Point (next to Subway and diagonal across from McDonald's). The location provides a view of the lake and high visibility as well as plenty of room for parking and future expansion if needed. The new Cobblestone hotel will feature a mix of short term and long term stay suites, ADA compliant units, a swimming pool, conference room, breakfast room, exercise room, laundry and outdoor patio. Headquartered in Neenah, Wisconsin, Cobblestone Hotels prides itself on filling the lodging needs of communities throughout the United States. Since January of 2008, the brand has expanded to over 162 hotels in 29 states, including the new hotel in Urbana, Ohio where McGuire Farm & Excavating broke ground in August of 2019. Click here to see the progress of the Urbana Cobblestone over the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 as McGuire Farm & Excavating assisted in the construction at that location over the course of about 10 months.

McGuire Farm & Excavating visited Urbana University this morning for a quick excavating project. The University needed a flag pole, some bushes and some landscaping removed so a new Blue Knight and Horse sculpture could be installed in front of their athletic facilities on the center of campus. We took some pictures of the excavation beginning, and we'll try to update the site with a finished picture of the new sculpture once it's been installed. |
